Vintage Fenton Chrysanthemum Bowl

This absolutely gorgeous bowl is a Fenton Bowl in the Chrysanthemum Pattern. It is very rare, this piece was produced in 1914. I had the opportunity to see this lovely bowl at an antique show and like everybody else at the show I was completely blown away by it's beauty.

The bowl is 9" in diameter, the colors are rich and the bottom has a little amberina red to orange coloring.

This bowl was just stunning and should bring $5,000 - $8,000 at a show, unfortunately the economy needs to pick up quite a bit before this piece can fetch that kind of price.

A truly rare beautiful piece of vintage Fenton!

Christmas Wreaths

I went to a Christmas Auction not to long ago, if you are wondering what a Christmas auction is it is just as it sounds. Everything there was Christmas themed, a very interesting auction. I took some pictures of the wreaths, there must of been a hundren of them. Beautiful, fun, crafty, woodsy, green, red, blue, any kind and size of Christmas Wreath and I bet it was there. Here are a few of the photos.

Snowboy & Snowgirl are dressed in tweed suits and surrounded by red & green Poinsettias, pretty iridescent leaves and a sprinkling of green pears, Christmas Ornaments and gift boxes. Very cute!

This thick & lush wreath was a very large commercial grade wreath, it was lit and it was very impressive!

This woodsy wreath is made with baby's breath, pinecones & cinnamon sticks, the red, white and green bow is just perfect for this wreath!








I think the red and white floral wreath was my favorite, it was very pretty!





This outdoor Ruldoph Wreath is a motion sensor wreath that just made you laugh every time you passed it, it would sing Ruldoph the Red Nose Reindeer - mambo style, hilarous!

And last but by no means least, this white bisque porcelain Christmas wreath is a collector's item. Made by artist / potter Margaret Furlong Christmas Wreath it was dated 1980 and had the artist's seal on the back. This particular piece of art is retired and there forth very valubable. Only 8" from top to bottom and it brought $200.

Vintage Aluminum Christmas Trees

I personally think these trees are ugly, especially the bare ones but there are lots of people out there that seem to be fascinated with the 1950's and 1960's era when these were so popular.

Ebay seems saturated with these aluminum Christmas trees and while the cost has come down over the years they are still kind of pricey. They come in several different sizes, some have pom pom branches, some are just straight, while most I've seen are silver this blue aluminum Christmas Tree brought $150 on eBay.

It does help to have all the branches, the pom pom branches bring higher prices than the straight branched trees. The taller the more valuable and if you find one in any color other than silver you definitely have a collectible of value. The original box is always a plus!

The color wheels are easy to come by as eBay has several reproductions, if you do want to stay vintage be sure to add that to the description in the search box.

While most color wheels only had four colors, this rare vintage color wheel has 16 colors.

Vintage Christmas Tablecloths

Continuing on with our great Christmas finds this month, I have some great tablecloths that I've found this year at different auctions.

This has got to be from the 1930's, very cute!

This Fenton Bell is 6 1/2", signed K. Moyer and has a Fenton Sticker inside. I believe it's from the 1970's.
I love these glass beads, this is a 8 foot garland type strand.
My grandson is going to love these books, all are winter or Christmas themed.

Continuing the pictorial of the great Christmas Decoration Finds of the year, I give you the following:
This Roly Poly musical Santa is a cute toy, possibly from the 1950's or early 1960's. You can see the paint has started to peel off but it doesn't effect the cuteness!
This is a set of 4 limited edition Budweiser Christmas Mugs.
These very cute Christmas Tree ornaments are all Disney characters, some of the 101 Dalmatian's, Peter Pan, Thumper, Jasmine, Quasimodo and Doc from Snow White.

I love these Toy Soldiers ornaments, they are from the 1960's or 70's era.

And these Christmas Tree ornaments are from the Peanuts gang. These are also from the 60's or 70's era, they are marked made in Japan.

Here are some more of the wonderful Christmas Collectibles I have found this year.


This fabulous old record is dated 1948. It was produced by Voco, Inc. One side plays "I wish I were Santa Claus and the other plays "Jingle Bells". This cover is one of the cutest I've ever seen.

This book is titled Good Old Days and is full of Christmas Pictures all the way back to the Civil War times. The book was compiled in 1980 but the pictures are from just about every era.

This great celluloid Santa lights up, it's 14" tall and just darling!
These wooden ornaments are from the 1970's era.

These minature santa's are only 2 1/2" tall, they are adorable!

Christmas Collectibles

During the month of December I want to highlight all the Christmas ornaments and decorations I've come across during the year.

I love to decorate for Christmas and have no particular theme, I just have to find it cute. Some of these were found at auctions, some at flea markets and yard sales. I tend to buy and weed these out every year so I always have something new for the house and something to go into my booth and some for eBay.

Thanksgiving Collectibles

Happy Thanksgiving!

We all associate turkeys with Thanksgiving Day, however, it has gone from the edible to the collectible.

I’ve found turkeys everywhere this year. Here are a cute pair of turkey earrings, some cupcakes picks, a postcard, a figurine and a collector plate.

Of course I’ve also found turkey salt & pepper sets, candle sets, centerpieces, blow-ups, placemats, tablecloths, the list just keeps growing and growing.

Personally I think the edible turkey is the best but for all you turkey collectors out there the sky is the limit! Happy collecting and to all of you happy Thanksgiving Day!
